Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between rhythmic gymnastics ability and student learning outcomes in Physical Education (PE) learning for Grade VIII students at SMP IT Insan Harapan Karawang. The method used was a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research sample consisted of 19 students from Grade VIII B, selected using purposive sampling technique. The research instruments included a cognitive questionnaire (30 items), an affective discipline questionnaire (30 items), and a psychomotor assessment rubric for rhythmic gymnastics. Validity and reliability testing were conducted on 37 respondents. Data analysis employed the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, linearity test, and Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that: (1) the relationship between rhythmic gymnastics ability and affective learning outcomes yielded r = 0.020 (not significant); (2) the relationship with cognitive learning outcomes yielded r = 0.216 (not significant); and (3) the relationship with psychomotor learning outcomes yielded r = 1.000 with sig = 0.000 (very strong and significant). Overall, the Pearson correlation coefficient between rhythmic gymnastics ability and total learning outcomes was r = 0.428 with a significance value of 0.068. It is concluded that rhythmic gymnastics ability has a highly significant relationship with psychomotor learning outcomes, but not significant in relation to the affective and cognitive aspects of student learning outcomes in PE.
