This study aims to determine the effect of juggling training programs on improving basic first touch techniques in soccer players. The training program is systematically designed and implemented in 18 meetings with a training frequency of four times a week. The training materials are arranged in various ways at each meeting to optimize the results obtained. In the era of modern football that demands speed, accuracy, and effectiveness in playing, first touch skills are one of the most important basic techniques, both in terms of attack and defense.
The results of the study showed that the juggling training program had a significant effect on improving first touch techniques. This is indicated by an increase in the average value of the juggling test results from 52.20 (pre-test) to 63.10 (post-test), and the first touch test results from 51.50 (pre-test) to 70.00 (post-test). This increase indicates that the juggling training program is able to effectively improve the basic first touch skills of players.
Structured training that is adjusted to the age and abilities of the players contributes positively to the development of physical, technical, tactical, and mental qualities. Therefore, juggling training program can be recommended as one of the training methods to improve soccer playing skills, especially the first touch technique.
