This study aims to identify the relationship between the level of understanding of the rules of the game of football and sportsmanship in playing football in PORKAB athletes in Garut Regency. The method used is descriptive with a correlation design, involving 35 PORKAB athletes as samples. The instrument used is a questionnaire on the level of understanding of the rules of the game of football and sportsmanship.
The results of the normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method show that the data on the level of understanding of the rules of the game of football (X) and sportsmanship in playing football (Y) are normally distributed. The homogeneity test shows a significance value of 0.072, so that both variances are declared homogeneous because the significance value is more than 0.05.
The results of the t-test show a t-count value of 2.603 with a probability (sig) of 0.001, compared to a t-table of 1.689 at a significance level of 0.05. This shows that t-count> t-table and sig <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between the level of understanding of the rules of the game of football and sportsmanship in playing football.
The results of the correlation test show an r-count value of 0.413 with an r-table of 0.324 at a significance level of 0.05. Because r-count > r-table, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which means there is a positive relationship between the level of understanding of the rules of the game of football and sportsmanship in playing football.
