Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of student involvement and positive experiences in learning floor gymnastics due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods. The purpose of this study was to describe students' subjective experiences (perceptions, feelings, and social interactions) in learning floor gymnastics based on the Jigsaw cooperative model. This study used a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research population was grade X students of SMK Bhakti Kencana Cimahi, with a sample of 8 students selected using a purposive sampling method. The instruments used included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006) through the stages of data introduction, coding, theme identification, theme review, theme definition, and report preparation. The results of the study showed that: (1) students viewed the Jigsaw model as more positive, interesting, and motivating; (2) students experienced emotional changes from shyness and fear to comfort and confidence; (3) the Jigsaw model encouraged active social interactions such as discussion, mutual assistance, and group responsibility. In conclusion, the Jigsaw model effectively promotes positive learning experiences, fosters emotional safety, and develops students' social skills in floor gymnastics.
