Abstract

This research is motivated by the low smash skills of Udayana Club's male volleyball athletes who are not optimal in terms of accuracy, strength, and consistency of strokes. This study aims to determine the effect of the teeming training method on the smash skills of Udayana Club's male volleyball athletes, Bolo District, Bima Regency, with a quasi-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 15 male volleyball athletes selected by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through a modified Nurhasana volleyball smash accuracy test instrument, which was carried out in two stages, pretest and posttest, after treatment, with each athlete performing a number of stroke trials assessed based on accuracy, strength, and consistency. During the treatment, athletes followed a structured teaming training program in several training sessions. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the paired sample t-test, and the N-Gain Score. The results of the study showed an increase in smash ability with an average value of 67.53 in the pretest to 77.87 in the posttest, with a significance value of p < 0.05. In addition, the effect size value (Cohen's d = 1.98) is in the high category, while the N-Gain Score result of 0.32 indicates a moderate category. It can be concluded that the teeming training method has a significant and effective influence in improving the smash skills of male volleyball athletes at the Udayana Club, Bolo District, Bima Regency. This study provides a practical contribution as an alternative effective training method for coaches in improving the performance of athletes' smash techniques.
